Overnight Float Fishing
2 Days of Float Fishing and River Camping
Relaxing and stress free!
If you really want a chance to relax and enjoy the beauty of the New River then two days of fishing are definitely better than one.
Day one of your fishing trip is spent pursuing New River smallies until your appetite can’t take it anymore. Then it’s time to head to the riverside camp for relaxation and a feast. We have a designated gear boat and “gear boater” that sets up the camp long before we arrive. When we hit the beach your tent with sleeping cots are set up and your dry gear is waiting for you. Once you settle in, a superb dinner with all the trimmings and of course dessert will be prepared to perfection.
The next morning you’ll wake up to the smell of fresh coffee and the splendor of the river, and then roll on in to a full, hot breakfast. Soon after that you’re on your way for another spectacular day of fishing on the New.
TRIP LENGTH2 Days
SEASON(S)Fall, Spring, Summer
Fishing overnights must be booked in groups of 2 anglers.
Our most popular float trips are our two and three-day trips but we can arrange float trips up to five days in length. All meals, drinks, tackle and transportation are provided for you. Just grab your sleeping bag and be ready to fish.
Do we have to run rapids on this trip?
Depending on the time of year and the water level in the river, we'll pick the best place to go for smallmouth—we know just where they like to hang out. But no matter what time of year and what the level is, there will always be some rapids that we have to run. But hey, this is the Rivermen, and we know how how to do that!
What does Rivermen/Mountain State Anglers provide?
We provide everything you need to have a great day of fishing, even if have no experience and don't have a clue how to fish! We've got all the tackle, rods, reels and plastic bait, plus flies and fly rods if specified. We also bring snacks, lunch and drinks for on the river, all the camping equipment you need, except for a sleeping bag and a ton of food and drink!
What should I bring?
Most importantly, you are responsible for obtaining and bringing your WV fishing license, and we ask that you please show that to your guide when you meet up. Bring weather-apprpriate clothing, as well, such as rain gear and warm layers if called for. Bring your own rod, if you prefer, plus hardbait, crank baits, plugs or minnows, though none are necessary, if you don't have them. Also, bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat. Oh, and a sleeping bag.
