Governor Manchin and family jumpstart July 4th festivities at Class VI

The Rivermen welcomed West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin and his family Friday to jumpstart the Fourth of July festivities with some whitewater rafting, a canopy tour and ribbon cutting ceremony.

The governor, his son and three grandchildren spent the morning cruising down the lower New River, the afternoon swinging from the trees on a TreeTops Canopy Tour and the evening congratulating Rivermen President Brian Campbell on the recent opening of the new campus.

“West Virginia is a wonderful place to vacation,” Manchin said. “I’m so thankful to be able to stay here in this beautiful state and enjoy a fun day with my family.”

The Rivermen is a sibling company to Class VI – Mountain River. Both companies operate as part of Adventure West Virginia Resort, offering world class whitewater rafting, new zip line canopy tour, fishing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, ATV tours, kayaking clinics, lodging and restaurant facilities and much more.
