The New River Gorge area hosts many fun annual events for families and friends visiting this adventure mecca in Southern West Virginia.

THEMED WEEKEND CONTESTS

At the New River Gorge Adventure Center, we host our very popular themed Family Adventure Weekends. These weekends are a big hit with lots of participation! What people won't do for FREE RAFTING! By participating in our fun contests at the NRGAC, you and your family can earn credits to go rafting on us in 2009! Our contest prizes change by the contest, however, so pay attention and keep checking back at www.Rivermen.com to see what's new.

Cornhole Tournaments
You may have heard about this game called Bag Toss that’s been sweeping the nation. Around here, we call it Cornhole. No weekend at the Rivermen Adventure Center is complete without a friendly competition. Our guests play from sun-up to way past sundown on our ever-growing Cornhole set-ups. If you don't know how to play, we'll give you a crash course! It's a blast and just about everyone can do it.
Watermelon Eating Contest

What better way to spend July 4th weekend than with watermelon juice dripping down your face?! We will see who can eat the most watermelon in 10 minutes.

Grand Prize
Contest winners will receive a boatload (up to 8 at one time) of free New River rafting. This is a HUGE prize value! Judging will take place on Saturday nights and winners will be announced then. Some restrictions do apply, so call for more information.

LIVE MUSIC

Don’t forget about our showcase of local foot stompin’ musical talent every Saturday night at the New River Gorge Adventure Center! Our line-up features groups such as the Rust Kings, the Half-Bad Bluegrass Band, and other local favorites. Check back regularly here for news about upcoming bands.

I recently brought my friend with me to go rafting, and of course, I came to see my son who is a raft guideNick aka Nuggett. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed ourselves. My friend and I not only noticeded how hard that everyone works there, but just how comfortable everyone makes you feel. You guys are really oraganized and absolutely great at taking care of people on and off of the river. You always treat me so nice, and it makes me feel good knowing that my son is a part of such a topnotch group of people. My friend Jeanette, after only one trip on the lower new at semilow water, now says she's ready for the Upper Gauley, so I guess we'll be seeing you in the fall. Thanks again to everyone for making my trip so special and to Nick, I'm really proud. Sara aka Nuggett's mom
