The City of Summersville with approximately 3,200 residents is the County Seat of Nicholas County and is located in central West Virginia. Summersville, West Virginia is one of the premier tourist attractions in the state and is the home to West Virginia’s largest lake, Summersville Lake.  With over 2,800 acres of water and 60 miles of shoreline, Summersville Lake provides recreational adventure for everyone from weekend vacationers to outdoor extremists.

Summersville lake, West Virginia is also home to the Summersville Dam which spawned the world famous Gauley River Season. The Gauley River offers some of the best whitewater rafting in the East on one of the major rivers of West Virginia.
