The Middle and Lower sections of the Gauley River are considered Adventurous Whitewater, which means you can expect Class III, IV & V rapids with exciting waves and holes which will definitely keep your attention. You'll need to actively paddle through the rapids of one of the major rivers in West Virginia. And while all Middle-Lower Gauley rafters should be at least 14 years old, you don’t need prior whitewater rafting experience to try this one out.
Excitement is never in short supply on this 17 mile white water rafting journey! With over 70 rapids, this trip is filled with breathtaking canyon scenery, rollercoaster wave trains and powerful hydraulics. It is our longest and most difficult rafting adventure that is still suitable for first-time white water rafting hopefuls yet satisfies the thrill-seeking appetites of all wilderness adventure rafting enthusiasts.
*2009 Season runs Friday-Monday, September 11th-October 18th. Keep in mind that October 17th is West Virginia's famous Bridge Day. We will also be running the Lower New River on that day.

First of all, WOW!! Secondly, thank you Lisa for being such a tremendous guide! You made our run down the Lower New River a most memorable one! This trip was eagerly anticipated by my son, his wife and me over the past few months when we originally began planning this trip. We only wish the river was running higher! We had a great time on the river and truly appreciated the courtesy of the Rivermen staff during our stay. Thanks a million for the awesome time!! We'll be back soon!!
